Will the face recognition device work if an employee is wearing a mask or glasses?
Modern eSSL face recognition devices (K90 Pro, SpeedFace series) support masked-face recognition using the eye/forehead region. Glasses are handled well by the IR sensor. We recommend enrolling employees both with and without glasses during initial setup for best results.
Can someone fool the system with a photo or video on a phone?
No. Premium eSSL devices use infrared liveness detection and 3D depth sensing to distinguish a real face from a flat image or screen. This anti-spoofing feature rejects photos and video attempts.
What happens if the face recognition fails for an employee?
Devices with multi-modal support (like the X990) fall back to fingerprint or RFID card. For dedicated face-only devices, the employee can be temporarily issued an RFID card while their template is re-enrolled.
Does the device store employee photos?
No. eSSL face recognition devices store only the mathematical facial template — a numerical vector that cannot be reverse-engineered into a photo. This is fully compliant with data privacy best practices.
